Denis Law “Goal Model” Rachel Corsie is a successful ‘soccer’ player for Seattle Reign FC, in the USA, and one of the Scotland’s national football team stars.

Despite living on the other side of the Atlantic, she still actively follows Streetsport and as one of our ‘Denis Law Goal Models’ who helps young people in Aberdeen with advice and support.

Name: Rachel Corsie

Date of Birth: 17 August 1989

Sport: football

Club: Seattle Reign FC / Scotland International

Position: defender

The Seattle Reign star and Scotland international Rachel Corsie started to volunteer for Streetsport while studying at RGU. She had an excellent insight into our programme, since she always understood the importance of sport in changing lives, and she could prove it by helping children and young people in the streets of Aberdeen, making a huge difference for many of them.

Despite leaving Scotland to continue developing her bright football career in the US, Rachel never stopped collaborating with us. Thus, due to her amazing quality as a person and as a sportswoman, we are very delighted to have Corsie as one of our ‘Denis Law Goal Models’.

I am so happy to be involved in the Streetsport initiative even from across the other side of the world. I loved being outdoors and was fortunate as a youth I had the environment around me to do that every day,” Rachel says. “I want every kid to have that opportunity and believe the scheme serves a great purpose to the community in helping achieve that.”

A busy year lies ahead for the defender: her second season at Seattle Reign just began, and the Scottish national team keeps on fighting in the Euro 17’ qualifying campaign. We are sure that Rachel will be able to star in Scotland’s team and they will manage to have a place in this major tournament.

Good luck and thank you for everything, Rachel!
